Acting on Sharma's complaint, the police proceeded to book Deepa, Gurmail Singh, and Mewa Singh under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and launch a probe in the case.

The contractual teachers on Wednesday staged a protest against the state government and carried out a rally from Amb Sahib Gurudwara in Phase VIII to YPS Chowk. The officer said that in the coming days, illegal occupation of shamlat land (village common land) in the district will be removed on a war footing.
As per the police, the complainant had told them that her daughter had complained of stomach pain a few days ago, following which she took her to a doctor, who after running tests determined that the minor was pregnant.
A senior police official confirmed to The Indian Express that Kang was arrested on Friday and added that more arrests are expected to take place in the case in the coming days.

Residents Welfare Association president, Group Captain (retd) Kuldeep Singh, told The Indian Express that the incident took place when five to six people who stayed as tenants at flat number 1004 in the F block of the society were partying.
Ram Dayal, a washerman who runs a shop near the Intelligence HQ, told The Indian Express that he has been working in the area for the past three months and was aware that there was an office of Punjab Police in the area.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Guramanpreet Singh said that he had written to the police to add more sections in the FIR for damaging the environment and also recommended naming Sandhu’s son Davinder Singh in the FIR.
Monday's attack at the Punjab Police Intelligence headquarters bears similarities to the attack on cops at Nawanshahr, the grenade attack near the Army cantonment in Pathankot and the attack on a police post in Ropar.
BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa hit out at the AAP government, saying, "Punjab Police, instead of chasing (Tajinder Pal Singh) Bagga, should focus on state’s security."
The statement by the police said, “a minor explosion was reported at the Punjab Police Intelligence Head quarters in sector 77, SAS Nagar at around 7:45 PM. No damage has been reported. Senior officers are on the spot and investigation is being done. Forensic teams have been called.”
