Bengaluru police arrest 2 drug peddlers and seize narcotics worth Rs 1 crore

One of the arrested accused is a 25-year-old Nigerian national who lived within the limits of Bengaluru’s KR Puram police station.

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of the Bengaluru police on Wednesday said they arrested two people, including a foreign national, in separate cases of drug peddling and seized narcotics worth about Rs 1 crore.

The police identified the arrested accused as Uche Ndudi, 25, a Nigerian national, and Akash, a resident of Begur in Bengaluru. The police said the age of Akash was yet to be ascertained.

According to the police, Uche Ndudi was arrested following specific information that a foreign national living within the limits of the KR Puram police station was involved in drug trafficking. A mobile phone and a two-wheeler allegedly used for transporting contraband were also recovered.

In another operation, based on inputs that a person residing in AECS Layout under the limits of the Begur police station was supplying the banned narcotic substance hydro ganja to his contacts, CCB officials conducted a raid and arrested Akash.

The police said they seized hydro ganja valued at around Rs 48 lakh, along with other materials used in the offence, from his possession.

Further investigations are underway, the police added.
