JALANDHAR, Feb 26: Khalsa Sporting Club, Canada beat Punjab State Electricity Board, Hoshiarpur 2-0 in the first All-India Guru Gobind Singh football prize money tournament here to mark the celebrations of the Khalsa Birth Tercentenary.

In the fast-paced match, midfielder Jason Singh scored for Khalsa Club in the 35th minute. In the second session, striker Matta Moreen beat PSEB defence to completed the tally in the 60th minute.

Shooting camp
Local shooter Jaspreet Dhaliwal has been selected to attend the national coaching camp being conducted by National Rifle Association of India at DKS shooting Range, New Delhi from March 4 to 24.

According to a communication received from Rajiv Bhatia, secretary NRAI, only two shooters, Jaspreet and Abhinav Bindra have been invited from Punjab to attend the camp. Jaspreet, a student in Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology Patiala at present, had bagged one gold, one silver individually and another silver medal in team events in air rifle peep sight (ISU) in the 42nd National Shooting Championship which recently concluded at Bangalore.

Best athletes
Bathinda: Satpal Singh of B Com Part II and Beant Kaur of BA Part III were adjudged the best athletes among boys and girls respectively at the annual general body meeting of Government Rajindra College. Principal Secretary GPS Shahi, Higher Education, distributed the prizes.

Football camp
Ambala: The Haryana Football Association is organising a 15-day coaching camp at Rohtak from February 28 to March 14 for participation in the National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy being held at Ooty (Tamil Nadu).

The selection was made during the senior state championship at Yamunanagar and second Haryana State Super Club League at Gurgaon. The selected players should report to football coach Prem Singh at Rohtak on February 28 at 11 a.m.
