Samp;P economist to take over as RBI deputy governor
New Delhi: Global rating agency Standard and Poors Asia-Pacific chief economist Subir Gokarn will be the new deputy governor of the RBI,finance minister Pranab Mukherjee said on Wednesday. When asked whether an order appointing Gokarn as the deputy governor of RBI has been issued,he said It will be done in due course. Before joining Samp;P in August 2007,Gokarn was chief economist with Samp;Ps Indian arm Crisil. He had also worked as an economist with the think-tank NCAER.
No launches for two years: Tata Motors
KOLKATA: Tata Motors on Wednesday said it would not launch new models at least for the next two years. We have already invested Rs 2,200 crore for making the Indigo Manza and Indica Vista platforms. We will not launch new models except for the variants of the existing ones for the next two years, Tata Motors GM Nitin Seth said.
