Goa in pre-quarters

Former champions Goa today sealed their place in the pre-quarterfinals of the Santosh Trophy after defeating Meghalaya 2-1 in a thrilling Cluster VIII contest here. Goa will face Railways, who progressed to the knockout stage on a superior goal difference ahead of Mizoram in Cluster VII.

In Cluster II, Services pipped former champions Manipur for a place in the last 16 stage although the match between the two sides today ended in a 2-2 draw at Jammu.

In another Cluster II match at Jammu, Nagaland held Orissa to a pulsating 2-2 draw with fortunes swinging either way throughout the game, though the two sides failed to qualify for the knock-out stage.
