Veterinary students on strike demanding stipend hike: One more student on hunger strike hospitalised

Around 2,000 students of four veterinary science colleges of the state government-run Kamdhenu University, including 350 students of CVSAH, have been on an indefinite strike since August 1, demanding their monthly stipend be increased from Rs 4,200 per month to Rs 18,000.

Under the Prayas to Vishwas initiative, the PF office in Rajkot reached out to principal employers in private sector, requesting them to release their contribution towards pension fund of their employees 10 days prior to retirem-ent of their concerned employees.

The resolution also promises to waive farm loans up to Rs 3 lakh for each farmer and bring in a law prohibiting purchase of farmers’ produce below the government-fixed MSP.
