Notice issued to Sangamner council chief
Sangamner: District Collector Vijay Kumar has issued show notices to Sangamner Municipal Council president Kailas Lonari and seven councilors, asking why action should not be taken against them under the Anti-defection Act. The notices have been issued in connection with an application by Shiv Sena councilor Jyoti Jedhe.

The elections for the post of president of the council took place two years ago in which the independents had supported the Congress candidate. In July this year Jedhe filed the complaint. However no action was taken and therefore, on September 13, Jedhe had threatened a fast-unto-death agitation, demanding action against the councilors.

10 youths held
