Deputy Leader of Opposition Shailesh Parmar referred to the data and asked the government to reveal the exact number of Covid deaths in Gujarat. The official number of people who died of Covid as per the health bulletin on Tuesday was 10,942.
A senior official of Gujarat Assembly said that this will be the first address of the President to Gujarat Assembly ever.
The data was released by Congress on the basis of replies given by the Education Minister to various starred questions raised by its MLAs in Gujarat Assembly.

The minister listed out the jobs given between 2016 and 2021 in response to a question asked by Congress MLA Shailesh Parmar about the rise in man-days lost in textile, chemical and automobile sectors in the state in 2021.
As per the replies given by revenue minister Rajendra Trivedi, the compensation amount of Rs 2,935.85 crore paid in five districts by December 2021 includes Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Kheda, Navsari and Anand.
In his reply, the CM also said that the next of kin of the deceased in custodial deaths have been paid Rs 6 lakh compensation each.
As per the CM’s reply, Madhya Pradesh has to pay Rs 4,953.42 crore, Maharashtra Rs 1,715.67 crore and Rajasthan has to pay Rs 556 crore to Gujarat.

As per the minister’s reply, 163 and 195 fishermen were apprehended by Pakistani authorities in 2020 and 2021 respectively. It further said that the state government has made a total 18 representations to the Union Home Ministry to get these fishermen released.

The government in response to a question raised by Congress MLA Niranjan Patel said the state had a power generation capacity of 36,384 Megawatt (MW), as on December 31, 2021 and 3,266 MW capacity was created in the past two years.
Around 2,000 tribals in Kawant region of Chhota Udepur district were granted gun licence for agriculture purposes in 1975 by the state government, following a spate of robberies there.
