Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma both returned to the Vijay Hazare Trophy with centuries. (Express Photo by Rohit Jain Paras and PTI) Delhi vs Andhra, Mumbai vs Sikkim Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 Today Match Highlights: Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli both marked their return to the Vijay Hazare Trophy with centuries and guided their respective teams to victory. Rohit got there in a flash, smashing his way to his 38th List A century in just 62 balls while Kohli got to his 58th List A ton in 83 balls. Rohit was eventually dismissed on 155 off 94 balls while Kohli departed after making 131 in 101.
The two senior batters’ innings comes on a day when batting records fell in Ahmedabad and Ranchi. Vaibhav walloped a 36-ball century, the second fastest men’s List A ton by an Indian. He then went on to take that to 150 in just 54 deliveries, breaking South Africa batting legend AB de Villiers’ record (64 balls) for the fastest 150 in the format.
However, he ended up being pushed down to third on the list of the fastest men’s List A centuries by his own captain Saqibul Gani, who broke the record by getting to a ton in 32 balls. Eventually, Suryavanshi was pushed down to fourth even before the end of Bihar’s innings as Ishan Kishan smashed a century in just 33 balls.

Sensational 413-run chase from Karnataka against Jharkhand! It is the highest-ever chase in Vijay Hazare Trophy history and only the second time a 400+ score has been chased down in List A cricket after South Africa's epochal 435 chase against Australia in 2006! A superb 147 from Devdutt Padikkal.

And there you have it.. Kohli's ton has fired Delhi to a 4-wicket win over Andhra Pradesh. Skipper Rishabh Pant, another big name in the match couldn't do much with the bat, falling for just 5.
Meanwhile, Mumbai and Rohit Sharma have started off their VHT campaign with a 8-wicket win over Sikkim. Also, Bihar who smashed records with 574 runs also defeated Andhra Pradesh
Kohli has fallen on 131 in 101 balls. He hit 14 fours and three sixes in that innings of his. He tried stepping out and hitting over cover. Rishabh Pant now walks out with Delhi needing 25 to win.
Virat Kohli brings up his century with a boundary. Not much of a celebration. Just raises his bat to the dressing room. And shouts, “not much to celebrate.” Now he is asking Rishabh Pant to come in.

The runs continue coming at a breeze, Rohit goes up to 150 in 91 balls, before departing shortly afterwards. He was caught behind trying to cut a wide-ish ball from pacer Kranthi Kumar. The crowd breaks into chants, on their feet to give him a big reception after his 93-ball 155. The police personnel make a beeline to surround the dressing room as he walks off the pitch.

Kohli has tightened up a bit. He was rushing into the shots or looking to take on the attack. But at present he has gone back to playing the ball on merit. The spinner has tied him down, but Kohli hasn’t been troubled as yet. What more he has taken off his helmet and is batting with the cap.

Rohit's century was reeled off within 62 balls, at a rate that signifies his mastery of pacing in the 50-over format. It included eight sixes, hit all over the ground to both pace and spin. Rohit wasn't keen to celebrate much, but sheepishly raised his bat to acknowledge the thousands that have turned up to watch him bat, who were as loud as ever.

There it is! The crowd at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium have got what they came for and then some. He has got there in just 62 balls. Closing in on 14,000 runs in the 50-over format, the century was Rohit’s 37th ton in List A cricket, his fourth besides the 33 centuries in international colours for India. Read more here.
Meanwhile, Kohli is going slow, strictly on a comparitive basis that is considering the kind of fireworks that have gone off the bat of Rohit and a few other batters in other parts of the country today. "Kohli brings up his fifty off 39 balls. He gets there with a boundary off seamer KSN Raju," reports Venkata Krishna B from Bengaluru.
There are two players that have been cheered on by the huge crowds here even more than Rohit. The first is his opening partner Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who has been duly obliging their demands by constantly taking his singles and bringing the star on the crease. The other was Sikkim's Robin Limboo, who dropped Rohit at 84; a sitter at long on that spilled out of his hands and went for six. Now in his 90s, the big moment that these fans have assembled for is imminent.

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsRohit Sharma's only List A century for Mumbai was in his first-ever match in the #vijayhazaretrophy since its rebranding from the Ranji Trophy One-Day tournament, back in the 2008 Qf against TN. Could be a second after the blazing start in Jaipur today.

Kohli has been dropped on 32. In the last two overs he has been rushing into the shots, taking his chances. This one he doesn’t connect well of seamer Raju. Tried to go over the top, but couldn’t.
- Venkata Krishna B
The former India captain has brought it up in just 28 balls. Rohit has smashed seven fours and four sixes thus far and his strike rate is going close to 180. Wowza!
Kohli has walked in early in the chase.. and has straight away looked the part. started off with a lofted drive before following it up with a jaw-dropping straight drive. Each of those shots would have brought the roof down. But not here.
- Venkata Krishna B
The one stand that the state association had left open has not been enough, they have opened three more and a conservative estimate would have the number of spectators at over 10,000. Just about as much as this venue is prepared for, with the reinforced security. For a Vijay Hazare game. Go figure.
- Namit Kumar
After four hours of build up, by the time Rohit Sharma walks out to bat, the crowd that has swollen to almost as much as the limited capacity venue can hold makes its voice heard. By the time he hits his first six, swivelling to connect with a length ball from Kranthi Kumar and depositing it in the crowd, the roar is deafening.

Only days after powering Jharkhand to their maiden Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy win and earning an India recall, Ishan Kishan clubbed one of the fastest-ever centuries by an Indian in the List A format against Karnataka in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Wednesday.
Sliding down from his usual top-order role in the 50-over format, Kishan walked in at number six at the end of the 38th over and stormed his way through to a sensational century at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Kishan clubbed 14 sixes and cracked a century in only 33 balls as Jharkhand racked up a staggering 412 for nine in 50 overs. Read more HERE.
Ishan Kishan smashed a scarcely believable 125 in 39 balls to propel Jharkhand to a score of 412/9.
Odisha's Swastik Samal has become the 14th Indian man to record a List A double hundred, converting his maiden Vijay Hazare Trophy century to 212 opening against Saurashtra
Delhi have to chase down a target of 299 to win this match, which means a typically big contribution from their superstar No.3 would be more than welcome. Andhra have finished on a score of 298/8. As stated earlier, Ricky Bhui was the standout with a score of 122 in 105 balls.
Which means Rohit Sharma will walk out to bat shortly. Sikkim have ended their innings on a respectful score of 236/7 in 50 overs, Mumbai have to chase down 237 to win the match.
Bihar record the highest-ever men's List A total, a jaw-dropping 574/6, surpassing Tamil Nadu's 506/2 from three years ago against the same opposition - Arunachal Pradesh.

Ricky Bhui's epic knock has just ended in the 42nd over on 122 off 105 balls, with Simarjeet Singh being the wicketkeeper. Andhra have lost wickets at the other end a bit too frequently for their liking, with captain Nitish Kumar Reddy falling before Bhui in the 40th over on 23 off 21. Andhra are 231/5 in 42 overs.
Sikkim have gone past 200 and, as stated before, showing some real mettle with the bat against the might of Mumbai. They score reads 220/6 in 47 overs, with wicketkeeper Ashish Thapa setting up a highest score for them of 79 in 87 balls. Mumbai captain Shardul Thakur is the only bowler with two wickets so far, with Tushar Deshpande, Tanush Kotian, Shams Mulani and Musheer Khan all taking a solitary wicket.
Ricky Bhui has been quite sensational today for Andhra against Delhi. He has got to 102 in 91 balls and was especially brutal on Navdeep Saini in the 30th over. He smashed three sixes and a boundary in that over, with Kohli acknowledging the last of those sixes.
Well, Arunachal have managed to dismiss Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the 25th over. The opener smashed 190 runs in 84 balls by then and one can only imagine where he would've gone and what he would've achieved today if he was allowed to stay out there for even about half an hour more today.
He turned up to this match just three days after playing the U19 Asia Cup final against Pakistan and went and broke a record held by none other than AB de Villiers himself. Vaibhav Suryavanshi is making heads turn so much that a few necks might need to be checked. Read more.
Sikkim have made a good account of themselves thus far, getting to a score of 89/2 in 20 overs. Fans, though, aren't too interested in the proceedings. There are quite a few videos doing the rounds of social media now from the match in Jaipur.

Stands, scaffolding, any vantage point is good enough for the fans in Jaipur to catch a glimpse of Rohit Sharma. As this pic sent by Namit Kumar shows.
Although fans are not allowed to watch Delhi’s game at the BCCI Centre of Excellence there is strong police presence outside the ground. Even the odd fan who tried to have a glimpse by climbing the perimeter wall being asked to leave by the police. Some of them have got lucky at one part of the ground though. Kohli has been stationed at point throughout and has been chirpy all morning… so is Rishabh Pant behind the stumps.
- Venkata Krishna B
Bihar are playing Arunachal Pradesh in Plate Group and well, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has gone on his own merry way. He has smashed the second fastest List A hundred by an Indian man, just 36 balls he has taken to score his century.
Nothing to note so far from Sikkim's early batting, not that anyone is here to see how Tushar Deshpande and Shardul Thakur fare with the new ball. Their early spells have been muted out by chants of 'Rohit, Rohit'. The 38-year-old star, constantly chirping in the slips with Sarfaraz Khan, is having to acknowledge the crowd and calm them down every time the ends change.

Namit is at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium today in Jaipur and this is what he had to say about the crowds: "Expectations of around 3,000 spectators to turn up at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on this weekday morning have already been met. As news filters that Rohit Sharma will bat second, expect that number to double. A few left after the toss. Both the North and East Stands have been opened here to accommodate them."
Well there are a few fans trying to get a glimpse of the action, as pictures sent by our man on the ground Venkata Krishna B suggests. Andhra have scored four runs in the first two overs, with Navdeep Saini and Ishant Sharma opening the bowling for Delhi. KS Bharat and Ashwin Hebbar are the opening batters for Andhra.

Delhi (vs Andhra): Arpit Rana, Priyansh Arya, Virat Kohli, Nitish Rana, Rishabh Pant(w/c), Ayush Badoni, Simarjeet Singh, Harsh Tyagi, Ishant Sharma, Prince Yadav, Navdeep Saini
Mumbai (vs Sikkim): Rohit Sharma, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Sarfaraz Khan, Siddhesh Lad, Musheer Khan, Hardik Tamore(w), Shams Mulani, Tanush Kotian, Shardul Thakur(c), Tushar Deshpande, Sylvester DSouza
Delhi have won the toss and elected to field against Andhra at the BCCI COE Ground 2. Meanwhile, Sikkim have won the toss in Jaipur against Mumbai and chosen to bat first. Which means both Kohli and Rohit are batting second today.
JioStar has said that two games have been equipped with full broadcast facilities. These are Pondicherry vs Tamil Nadu at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and Hyderabad vs Uttar Pradesh at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.
It has been a while since Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma last played in this tournament. How did they do in their most recent appearances before today? Read here.
Sikkim will be up against Mumbai today, which means they will be playing a side featuring Rohit Sharma. Leeyong Lepcha, the 34-year-old offspinner from Gangtok, believes Wednesday will be the biggest match he has ever played as captain. What would have otherwise been a nondescript game of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, between domestic cricket minnows Sikkim and giants Mumbai, has been given heavier weightage thanks to the man opening the batting for the latter team.
“It is not every day that we get the opportunity to go up against a player of Rohit Sharma’s stature,” Leeyong told reporters. “It is huge for us to compete against him and just be in his shadow, just be around him. If we can go back home and share this experience, it will definitely help more youngsters take up the sport.” Read more from Namit Kumar HERE.
Virat Kohli's first Vijay Hazare Trophy match since 2010, Rohit Sharma's first since 2018. Other stars who are set to play include the likes of India's ODI and Test captain Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and so on. And yet, you won't be seeing any of them on television. Broadcast facilities have been provided only in Rajkot and Ahmedabad whereas matches featuring Rohit and Kohli will be in Jaipur and Bengaluru respectively. As that American saying goes: That's the way the cookie crumbles.

Fans in Bengaluru will not get to watch Virat Kohli featuring in the Vijay Hazare Trophy as Delhi’s fixtures have been moved to the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CeO) where the match against Andhra will be played behind closed doors for the public.
It is understood that with the stadium yet to meet all the safety recommendations suggested by the Justice Cunha commission, the review committee felt the venue isn’t ready to host matches as yet. Less than 24-hours before Delhi were scheduled to play Andhra in the first round of Vijay Hazare Trophy at Chinnaswamy stadium, based on a report of the review committee — appointed by the Karnataka government — the city police denied permission for the international venue to host the match on Wednesday.
