Shiamak Davar on how he got Abhishek,Kangna and Sarah grooving for the promotional song in Game.
The instructions given to choreographer Shiamak Davar when choreographing Kaun hai ajnabee, the credit video for Game,he was told to make the moves as different and unusual as possible. But with his stamp a fusion of contemporary jazz and western dance form. The film is an action thriller, and the song in sync with the genre had to be extremely stylish and slick, with a mystical quality, says Shiamak. So he and the director Abhinay Deo, opted for a white and black theme for the costumes and the backdrop. They conceived some very alluring hand movements, while the leg movements were kept very light. The song is a lot about attitude and Shankar- Ehsaan-Loys snazzy music should have the audience thumping, he says.
The song was shot at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai over three days. And according to Shiamak, everyone had a blast while shooting it. The best part about shooting for the song was getting to work with Abhishek Bachchan. He is always fooling around on the sets and has everyone in splits. Kangna Ranaut with whom I was working for the first time,is one of the most dedicated actors I have seen. She would keep rehearsing till she perfected her steps. Sarah Jane-Dias is a little raw and I had to work a bit on her, says the choreographer, adding that the styling for the video has been done by Shyamali Arora.
The edge-of-the-seat thriller, which also has some heavy-duty action sequences,is filmed across five countries including Greece,Istanbul,Bangkok,London and India and releases on April 1. The film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar for their company Excel Entertainment.
