The BJP chose to pretend ignorance after Baba Ramdev threatened to raise an army of 11,000 volunteers and impart training to them in shaastra and shastra scriptures and arms to stand up to the police.

The Babas twin weapons are his voice and yoga, party spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said when asked for comments on Ramdevs plan to raise an army and train the recruits in the use of arms. I am not aware of what he has said8230;The BJP believes in peace and non-violence, Hussain said. He described Ramdev as an honest person,who is revered by a large number of people. He has instilled nationalism in people.

He said the BJP would embark on a three-day anti-corruption agitation from Thursday. The programme would include demonstrations at all state capitals and important towns.

When asked about the allegation of Home Minister P Chidambaram that the RSS was behind Ramdevs agitation,Hussain said,He sees an RSS hand in everything. The BJP spokesperson said the government was trying to malign anyone who tried to raise a voice against corruption. He termed the letter written by the Prime Minister to ministers to declare their assets and links with companies as a delayed move.

Regarding the Haridwar visit of party leader Sushma Swaraj to meet Ramdev,he said she had gone there as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. The PM is sleeping and the government is not listening to Ramdev. Therefore,she felt it was her responsibility to meet him.
