Cong 145;ready146; for Gujarat polls

The Congress today geared up for the 8216;8216;inevitable8217;8217; in Gujarat 8212; an early Assembly election. It held a prolonged brainstorming session at the party headquarters here. Party leaders from MP, Maharashtra and Rajasthan 8212; all three share boundaries with Gujarat 8212; gathered to share views. with the party high command.

The leaders felt if the NDA called snap polls, the Congress would be the gainer. Gujarat Congress chief Amar Singh Choudhary was enthusiastic: 8216;8216;We are ready for the polls.8221;

Later, all the leaders rushed to 10 Janpath and talked to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. According to sources, Sonia too is sold on the idea of Gujarat polls, thus abandoning her stand that the communal riots would help the BJP most.
