JNU centralises process to ease admission

The university said it was making “efforts” to “provide hostel accommodation, library card, health centre card and ID card during the registration process”.

To “facilitate” students’ admission this year, the JNU has introduced new features, including a centralised administrative process at the Convention Centre. JNU’s registration process for new students will begin on July 18 and continue till August 16.

Unlike previous years, where the registration and admission process was carried out at the administrative block of the university, this year all procedures have been moved to the Convention Centre. In another first, the university is also attempting to allot hostels to students at the time of admission itself which was earlier done after several months. “First time students will benefit from a system of admission that has been centralised related to administrative process, at JNU Convention Centre. At the JNU gate, students will be guided by security staff and signboards to the Convention Centre (sic),” the university said in a statement.
