Omar Abdullahs growing political stature in Jammu & Kashmir over this week has not gone unnoticed by terror outfits. While the threat perception for the younger Abdullah has been high for some time now even before the seven-phase elections in the state it is believed that his increasing popularity has made him a top LeT target. The Centre had already tightened security for the new CM having received Intelligence alerts of a possible LeT threat while campaigning was on. Earlier, security during Ghulam Nabi Azads time had been beefed up when there were warnings about his own security posse having been compromised. Since then,a special unit of the J&K Police guards the state CM.
