PUNE, Oct 8: A 18-year-old divorcee from Kailash Nagar area in Pimpri went missing along with her 16-year-old sister under mysterious circumstances four days ago.

The mystery behind the disappearance of the two girls has deepened with the revelation that their young autorikshaw driver friend Bhimrao L Pardeshi is also missing along with his relative Rajbahaddur.

Police said Rajbahaddur had come to Pune from his native village in Uttar Pradesh to meet his in-laws when he went missing. Curiously, Pardeshi8217;s family did not lodge any formal complaint with the police.

The Pimpri police have launched a massive hunt to trace the whereabouts of the missing quadruple since Tuesday morning. However, they could not be located till late in the evening.

Giving a new twist to the case, the girls8217; mother today approached sub inspector in-charge of Pimpri police chowkey R L Pawar and claimed that the girls had contacted her by making a telephone call at the residence of a neighbour this morning.

The girls8217; mother claimed that her daughters have asked to call off the search for them while saying that they were all right. However, she added, they refused to disclose their whereabouts.

Sub inspector Pawar said the 18-year-old girl had married a resident of Pimpri about two years back. She returned to stay with her mother when her husband died shortly after the marriage.

She remarried about a year back but deserted her husband claiming that he was an alcoholic, police said. The other girl studies in the 8th standard at a school in Pimpri. Their widowed mother works as a domestic maid.

Police said the two girls left home without leaving any message for their mother on Monday afternoon. The mother reported the incident to sub inspector Pawar after trying to search the girls on her own throughout the Monday night.

Disappearance of Pardeshi and his brother-in-law Rajbahaddur came to light only after the police started quizzing the friends of the two girls. Preliminary investigations have also revealed that Pardeshi had withdrawn Rs 25,000 from his bank account before leaving home.

Sub inspector Pawar said he already searched several places in various parts of the city to locate the two girls. Besides, he added, police in other parts of the State have also been alerted. He also appealed the residents to tip off the police about the whereabouts of the quadruple.
