Hyderabad, May 17: Mohd Rafique8217;s swashbuckling 77 after a fine haul of three for 55 guided Bangladesh to their first ever victory in an official one-dayer as they subdued a listless Kenya by six wickets with 2.1 overs to spare in the Coca Cola Cup triangular cricket series here tonight.

Left-hander Rafique 8212; declared man of the match 8212; provided the momentum for the chase by piling up a Bangladesh record opening stand of 137 in 26 overs with Athar Ali Khan as the ICC Cup winners reached 236 for four in 47.5 overs after bowling out Kenya for 235 in 49 overs.

The maiden victory was a moment to cherish for Bangladesh who scored their first win in two outings. They also gained revenge for two big losses to Kenya in Nairobi recently. Rafique brought up his maiden half-century in style and went on to crack 77 off only 89 balls 11215;4, 1215;6.

He took a heavy toll of the Kenyan bowling and fielding, which failed to rise over mediocrity at the Lal Bahadur Stadium. Athar Ali Khan 47: 82b, 4215;4 played asupportive role after surviving a couple of extremely close leg before appeals.

Kenyans, however, had only themselves to blame as they dropped many catches and conceded 24 wides out of 39 extras.
