Nurses contribute day8217;s salary

PATIALA, July 28: Punjab Nurses Association has decided to contribute to the Kargil Martyrs8217; Welfare Fund.

PNA president Jiwanpreet Kaur said the Association cadre will donate their one day8217;s salary for the cause. Earlier, the Association, in its meeting, condoled the death of the Kargil martyrs and observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to them.

The Association has also extended its support to the agitation launched the sacked ANMs and condemned the state government8217;s failure to address the issue. Jiwanpreet Kaur appealed to CM to issue notification on the ordinance directing reinstatement of the sacked nurses and warned of direct action if the government failed to address the issue at the earliest.
