MTNL to cut mobile, STD rates

The massive 33 per cent price reduction in long distance phone calls by BSNL has stirred its sister concern, MTNL out from a deep slumber. 8216;8216;The STD tariff for both cell-to-cell as well as landline usage have consistently gone down in the last three years,8217;8217; says GM marketing of MTNL, A.K. Saxena. Though Saxena added he can not comment immediately how much price reduction will MTNL undertake, it will be 8216;8216;keeping in mind the market dynamics and basic affordability. When there are so many service providers trying to enhance their customer base, the prices are bound to go down,8217;8217; he reasoned.
