The event has been organized under Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav at Sumul Dairy Cattle feed centre at Bajipura in Tapi. Around 1 lakh people are expected to attend the event.
The farmers, protesting under the banner of Khedut Samaj, also handed over a memorandum to Surat District Collector Ayush Oak opposing the project stating that farmers of 15 villages in Olpad and Choryasi talukas will lose their lands.
Patel has been at the centre of various farmers’ protests against land acquisition for bullet train project and express highways, and was spearheading the protest against a Railway goods line in Choryasi and Olpad taluka of Surat district.

The farmers also handed over a memorandum to District Collector Ayush Oak requesting that over 300 farmers, of which 90 per cent are small farmers, will lose their lands if their farming land is acquired.
