Reiterating her insistence that India should support the United States-backed resolution that is to be moved for voting in the United Nation Human Rights Council in March

Reiterating her insistence that India should support the United States-backed resolution that is to be moved for voting in the United Nation Human Rights Council in March,Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa urged the Prime Minister that the country should condemn the government of Sri Lanka for the alleged human rights violations during the civil war.

In yet another letter to the PM on Tuesday,Jaya expressed her dismay about media reports that suggested that the Centre was against the country specific resolutions. Jaya had submitted a memorandum besides moving a resolution in the State Assembly, demanding the Centre to take up the issue of war crimes with the UN and initiate action to impose an economic embargo on Sri Lanka till the Tamils are resettled and rehabilitated.
