A shocking video from Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida has triggered outrage online after it showed a man driving a high-end sports car with a child lying on its roof. In the clip, the child can be seen stretched out on top of a DC Avanti sports car as it moves across a road and enters a gated housing society. Another man is visible running behind the vehicle, while the child appears to be enjoying the moment and cheering as the car slows down.

After the video gained traction on social media, the police arrested the driver, identified as Ankit Pal, a resident of Gaur City 2. According to ANI, legal proceedings have been initiated against him. However, a report by The Times of India stated that police believe the video may be nearly a year old and was recently re-circulated online by an unidentified user.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida Central) Shakti Mohan Awasthi confirmed that Pal was apprehended and issued a strict warning. He said any similar stunts in the future would invite tougher action.

Bisrakh police station Station House Officer Krishna Gopal Sharma said a case was registered under Section 117 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). “Pal was arrested and has been granted bail from court,” he said.

Meanwhile, the traffic police have not yet issued a challan. As per TOI, officials are verifying details such as the exact date and time of the incident. A traffic police officer explained, “Without verification, we can’t issue the challan as it can be challenged in court.”

The video has drawn strong criticism from social media users, many of whom expressed concern for the child’s safety. One Instagram user wrote, “Money doesn’t give people common sense.” Another commented, “This is horrifying and unacceptable. Using a child for viral content is criminal—strict punishment is necessary.”

A third user summed it up sarcastically with, “viral hone ke nuskhe (ways to go viral)”.
