ESCOUBAR (FRANCE), June 12: Coach Glenn Hoddle has hinted he has decided to select 18-year-old striker Michael Owen instead of the vastly more experienced Teddy Sheringham for England's opening World Cup clash with Tunisia.Hoddle told a belated news conference - England's first since arriving in France on Tuesday and his only one before the team travel south on Sunday - he believed the young Liverpool player had the talent and temperament to succeed. Hoddle, famous for playing it close to his chest, admitted yesterday: ``I know my starting 11.''An admirer of Owen, he said: ``He's got pace with the ball and he's got pace without the ball and, also, he has got good movement for someone with such limited experience.''Owen was only 10 years old and was often sent to bed early so missing the televised broadcasts when England last played in the World Cup finals in Italy. He became the youngest player this century to represent England when he made his debut against Chile at Wembley in February andwill be one of the youngest players to take part in the World Cup finals if Hoddle selects him.He played in the England team which beat a local Normandy team 1-0 behind closed doors in Caen on Tuesday as partner in attack to established striker and captain Alan Shearer.
