Australian Scott Draper will be busy tomorrow when he makes his professional golf debut in the morning and plays an Australian Open tennis mixed doubles semi-final in the afternoon. Draper, 30, advanced to the semi-finals when he and Samantha Stosur beat fellow Australians Wayne Arthurs and Trudi Musgrave 6-2, 7-6 7. That forced him to double-up tomorrow when he plays in the opening round of the 54-hole Victoria Open Golf tournament at Woodsland in Melbourne. He will then drive back to Melbourne Park to play the mixed doubles semi-final. The plan was made possible when he arranged yesterday for an early tee-off tomorrow, giving him time to make it back and take on Andy Ram of Israel and Spain8217;s Conchita Martinez. He got in some early preparation for the transition today when he payed 18 holes of golf before practicing at Rod Laver arena in the afternoon.
The mixed doubles final is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, which would likely clash with the final round of the golf if he was in the top half of the field.
Draper, whose one ATP title was at Queen8217;s in 1998, qualified for his Australasian PGA Tour card in December, allowing him to compete on the golf tour. 8212; AP
