Govt releases Rs 69 lakh for SGU
The State government has released a grant of Rs 69 lakh for the South Gujarat University. This comes close on the heels of the Rs 1.18 crore grant released last week. Syndicate member Prof Girishkumar Rana, the government nominated members on the Senate and Syndicate of SGU had made a special request to education minister Anandiben Patel to release more grants by taking into account the financially weak position of the university.

Conference
R P Chauhan Arts College, and J K Shah and K D Shah Commerce College of Vyara have organised the seventh Gujarat Sociology Conference at its premises on April 4. Vice-chancellor of South Gujarat University Prem Kumar Sharda will inaugurate the conference, while chairman of R F Dabu Kelavani Mandal Dr Mahendrabhai Shah will preside. Acting president of Gujarat Sociology Conference Prof Arvind Shah will give the presidential address while former president of Indian Sociological Society Dr Brijraj Chauhan will deliver the valedictory speech.

State-level meet
The Surat unit of Homoeopathy Medical Association of India will organise a state-level seminar on Homoeopathy on April 4 at Samruddhi, Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry SGCCI. Experts from Mumbai Dr Prabhakar Reddy and Dr Ram will attend the seminar.
