Opener Omar Phillips hit an unbeaten 71 on debut as the West Indies progressed to reach 136-2 at lunch on the third day of the first Test against Bangladesh at Arnos Vale. The 22-year-old struck five fours in 139 balls.
Ryan Austin made a defiant 17 for a second-wicket stand of 79. Travis Dowlin made 22 not out before the break cracking four boundaries. Rubel Hossain,another debutant,claimed the only scalp for the visitors when Austin nicked to first slip to Imrul Kayes. Earlier,Bangladesh were handicapped in the first half hour when skipper Mashrafe Mortaza limped off with an injured knee and can miss the remainder of the match. AP
