The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee held a meeting, intended to review the performance of Congress in the state. As part of the review, the All-India Congress Committee has entrusted AP Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajashekhara Reddy the task to conduct surveys across the state to gauge the popularity of the party8217;s MPs and MLAs.

The meeting, attended by All-India Congress Committee general-secretary Digvijay Singh, at the heritage resort of Taramati Baradari near Hyderabad, was organised to review the performance of the government after two and a half years of governing.

Presiding over the meeting, APCC chief K Keshav Rao said the point was to take corrective measures and prevent any anti-incumbency in the coming elections.

According to sources, the committee also decided to constitute a second States Reorganisation Committee, to deal with issues regarding a separate state of Telangana.

On Thursday, Singh said that Congress had constituted a committee, headed by Pranab Mukherjee, to arrive at a consensus, on the demand of TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Keshav Rao said, 8220;We want to pressurise the High Command into making a decision on the Telangana issue as soon as possible, and the second State Reorganisation Commission will go a long way in solving this problem.8217;8217;

The meeting, attended by about 400 Congressmen, also discussed issues like irrigation and power.
