Dealing Bataidari,Mahadalit cards

RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan have latched on to two pet topics that they use to lash out at Nitish Kumar.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan have latched on to two pet topics that they use to lash out at Nitish Kumar. While Lalu loses few opportunities to expound on how Nitish had designs to take away land from upper caste landowners,Paswan has been busy telling people how Nitish wants more sub-castes in society. Nitish, however, has his answers ready. On Lalus contention that Nitish would have implemented bataidari laws had the NDA not suffered a defeat in the September bypolls, the CM says,Laluji has been even telling people if I come back to power,I will bring the law in the fifth year of my next term. Hes good at spreading canards. As for Paswan,Nitish has a better idea to include Paswans as Mahadalits.

Nitish Kumar slams Centre again

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has no love lost for the Centre and after a period of relative silence,he is back at slamming it. With Assembly election less than 11 months away,Nitish has once again started accusing the UPA government of meting out step-motherly treatment towards Bihar. He has also raised the pitch on his demands for a special economic package, special category status to state,Kosi rehabilitation package,coal-linkages for power generation and change in norms to produce ethanol directly from sugar. The Opposition RJD,however, has suggested to Nitish that he rein in his lethargic and high-handed bureaucracy first.

When J and U came back to JDU

When George Fernandes,Digvijay Singh and Upendra Kushwaha quit the JDU,Opposition parties had started questioning the very identity of the party in the absence of J for George in Hindi,D for Digvijay and U Upendra and used this fortuitous coincidence to crack plenty of jokes at the expense of the party. But now that George Fernandes and Upendra Kushwaha are back to the JDU fold, the Opposition finds itself bereft of some convenient wordplay, especially ahead of Assembly polls. The 8220;D8221; link, however, remains missing with no overtures from the Chief Minister or Digvijay Singh for the Banka MPs return.

Its Jai hindi for Mauritius writer

While students in the state seem to be losing interest in taking up the study of Hindi literature,Raj Hiraman a writer and close aide of Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam who recently came to Bihar to trace his roots, spoke of his love for the language. Hiraman, who teaches creative writing at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute in Mauritius, said that Hindi flowers in the island country and expressed his surprise at the lack of interest shown in the language by Indian students. Hiraman also gave his audience in Chhapra a lesson in humility when he touched the feet of a peon, calling him his elder.
