Two arrested for raping classmate
BARABANKI: Two youths have been arrested for raping their classmate and recording it on their mobile phones,police said on Tuesday. In her complaint,the 18-year-old victim,a first year BA student at a college in Kursi area,alleged that Deepak Pandey and Armaan took her to a highway in their car on March 30 and raped her,SP Naveneet Kumar Rana said. She also said that the duo made a video of the act and threatened to circulate it if she registered a complaint,he said.
Tiger strays from reserve,kills animals
BHOPAL: A tiger from Bandhavgarh Reserve which strayed into residential areas in nearby villages has killed six domestic animals in the last five days,indicating that shrinking space and shortage of food is forcing wild animals to sneak into human habitat. This big cat had killed six cows and bulls at villages Basa and Damna in the last five days, Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve Field Director C K Patil said.
Accidental blast at Army camp,7 injured
JAMMU: An accidental grenade blast at an army training camp in Rajouri has left seven jawans injured,officials said on Tuesday. During a training drill on handling of grenades in the practice range in Noushera belt on Monday evening,the device exploded in the hand of Army jawan Sepoy L Balaji. Balajis hand was blown up and his right eye badly damaged in the incident. Six other soldiers were also injured and shifted to the military hospital for treatment.
Police asked to file FIR against Rakhi
JAIPUR: A local court here has directed police to lodge an FIR against Rakhi Sawant,Rahul Mahajan and six others for allegedly threatening a man here,who had claimed to have written the script of TV serial Rakhi Ka Swayamvar. The petitioner Gaurav Tiwari claimed that the script was originally written by him but the production house used it without his consent which violated the Copyright Act.
27 fall ill after consuming prasad
MUZAFFARNAGAR UP: At least 27 devotees suffered form suspected food poisoning after consuming the prasad during the Navaratra festival. They were taken to a hospital following complaints of headache,vomitting and fever,police sources said. The sample of the kutta atta consumed has been collected from the shop and sent for testing. One shopkeeper has been arrested in this connection,the sources said.
