Speeding bus kills 60-yr-old

A Sixty-year-old man was killed on Sunday when a speeding private bus hit him. The bus belongs to Shreeji travels. It was speeding along the highway near Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar in Ghatkopar and collided with an electric pole and hit the man killing him.

Three children between ages three and seven and a laborer in his twenties also sustained minor injuries. According to the Police sub-inspector Mohan Sable of Pantnagar who is the investigating officer in the case, the driver Shantkumar 8220;Sabanna 24 was heading towards Kandivali from Sindhudurg when he crashed into the electric pole. Sabanna lost control over the wheel and the bus climbed the pavement. Gopal Bhima Patil was taking a morning walk when the bus went over his foot. He also sustained a head injury leading to his death. Road construction activity was also underway at the site and three small children of labourers and a worker Gopal Rathod 45 was injured,8221; said Sable.

However he added that the children and Rathod have suffered only superficial injuries and will be discharged from hospital soon.

The police have arrested Sabanna for rash and negligent driving.
