CBI allowed to retain Bofors papers
NEW DELHI:
A special court here today allowed the CBI to retain the last set of Bofors documents obtained from Switzerland recently for further investigation and asked the agency whether fresh travel documents could be issued to Dubai-based businessman Win Chadha to enable his appearance in the Rs 64 crore pay-offs case.

Train blast case
PALAMPUR (HP):
Police in Kangra on Monday claimed to have made a major breakthrough in the Puja Express train bomb blast case in which 16 people were killed on November 11 last year, and said it was the handiwork of the Khalistani Jindabad Force.

Fog hits Delhi
NEW DELHI:
A thick blanket of fog enveloped the Capital and its neighbourhood disrupting surface and air traffic by reducing visibility to near zero. Poor visibility led to a mishap at Ballabhgarh, about 40km from here, in which one person was killed and four others injured when a group of people was run over by Taj Express at a level crossing,officials said.

Sharma’s ashes
HARIDWAR:
The ashes of former president Dr Shanker Dayal Sharma were immersed in the Ganga amidst chanting of vedic hymns here today. The rites were performed by the late Sharma’s son Ashutosh in the presence of eminent citizens and senior officials.
