Memorial, RIP

The Defence Ministry has once again prepared a cabinet note for establishing a national war memorial, the third such note in the past five years. Minister Antony has also put his weight behind the issue by penning a letter to the PM asking him to pursue the case. However, the timing of the affair8212;when the UPA Government is nearing the end of its term8212;has elicited the armed forces8217; scepticism. The NDA government too had failed to start work on such a memorial and senior officers are not convinced about the ability of this government to deliver on the memorial either.
