Police Sunday arrested two persons for allegedly using unfair means and eight persons for allegedly impersonating applicants in the recruitment examination of staff selection commission(SSC) at three centres in Lucknow.
Police claimed to have arrested Amit Chauhan and Ramsudheer Singh,both residents of Baghpat district,while they were using mobile phones to get the answers for the question paper at Saint Joseph Inter College in Rajajipuram area.
According to police,the accused,who were appearing in the examination for the recruitment of sub-inspectors in Delhi police and assistant sub-inspector in CISF,had been assured of clearing the examination by the owners of a Baghpat-based coaching institute, Subhash and Arvind Rana.
Police said the accused had promised to give Rs 3-5 lakh to the duo.
Two persons,Pooranchand Chaudhary and Veerbha Namzai,both residents of Rajasthan,were arrested for allegedly giving examination in place of the real applicants at the examination centre in Shia College in Hasanganj area.
Another six persons namely Shailendra Kumar of Bihar; Netrapal of Aligarh,Pawan of Sitapur; Vivek Singh of Faizabad,Mahesh Singh of Agra,and Dharmendra of Hathras,were arrested for alleged impersonation at the Vikas Nagar centre.
Mahangar circle officer Rajesh Kumar said the arrested persons were detected when the officials checked their biometrics which were found to be different from those taken durin their physical test.
