Women on wheels

It was a bright spring morning when a fabulous line up of eighteen vintage cars rolled out of The Emporio towards Mehrauli for the All Womens Vintage Car Rally,held in association with the Automotive Heritage Trust.

It was a bright spring morning when a fabulous line up of eighteen vintage cars rolled out of The Emporio towards Mehrauli for the All Womens Vintage Car Rally,held in association with the Automotive Heritage Trust . The cars included some Rolls Royces,a couple of Buicks,and Cadillacs. “My first driving lessons were on a vintage car and it is quite exciting to be driving one again,” said Ramola Bachchan,emerging from a gleaming black jalopy. Randhir Singh,Secretary General of the Indian Olympic Association flagged off the rally. “We hope to include these delightful machines as one of the Commonwealth Games attractions,” said Singh. The lady drivers converged at the Qutab Minar complex for coffee and ended the morning with a sushi session at Asia 7,a new restaurant in Qutab Hotel.
