
VADODARA, July 22: Four students who were responsible for the recent rampage in the M S University8217;s Arts Faculty on Monday will not be granted admissions for one year as a disciplinary action against them. A decision to this effect was taken by the faculty dean Maya Shah.
Speaking to Express Newsline on Thursday, Shah said, 8220;The four students, Janak Makwana, Javed Jackson, Mihir Upadhay and Dinesh Parmar, have always been miscreants, and two of them had not even deposited their fees last year.8221; She had informed departmental heads of her decision, she added.
Even MSU Vice-Chancellor Anil Kane had agreed with her decision and instructed the deans of other faculties to ensure that these students were not admitted in their faculties, she said.
The student union leaders, meanwhile, have decided to call off their agitation which was scheduled to begin from Friday as the varsity authorities have decided to accommodate 300 students in the faculty and 400 more in the Padra College of Arts and Commerce. This is the same number as last year, the dean said.
