Police have registered an FIR against an unidentified man for beating up a stray dog.

Police have registered an FIR against an unidentified man for beating up a stray dog. Old Sangvi Police Station has registered a case under Section 429 of the IPC (Prevention of cruelty to animals). The complaint was filed by animal activist Jitesh Jotwani. “On Saturday,I got a call from a resident of old Sanghvi area informing about the attack on a stray dog. When I reached the spot,I found that the dog had suffered injuries on the face and right eye,” he said.

“If anyone has issues with stray dogs,they can contact me. Injuring or killing stray dogs is not tolerated. As per the law,the culprit can be put behind bars for up to five years,” he added.
