There are more fashion weeks than there are designers these days, says an industry insider. Not far from the truth. Here is the dummys guide to the Great India Fashion Week soup.

Indias top two Pret-a-porter (ready-to-wear) Fashion Weeks

*Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW): Organised by FDCI,this takes place twice a year in Delhi in April for Autumn-Winter and in October for Spring-Summer.

*Lakme Fashion Week (LFW): Organised by Lakme,in association with IMG,this takes place in Mumbai. The Summer-Resort collections show is held in February and the Winter-Festive in August.

Couture weeks

*Delhi Couture Week,organised by FDCI,takes place in Delhi in

July every year. This year it is being held in association with Synergy1.

*HDIL-India Couture Week takes

place in Mumbai every year in

October-November.
