Its getting hot in here
The fare at Bollywood night did get a good number
of videshi footfalls. The DJ got the visitors dancing to recent hit numbers, including Munni Badnaam Hui and Sheila ki Jawani. Sponsored by Wipro,it was open by invitation and saw some of the IT honchos including NIIT chairman Rajendra Pawar and Saurabh Srivastava of CA Technologies, dropping by for a while. The party, that started at 11 in the night, continued till the wee hours of next morning. As someone aptly described the nite,For once, the -15 degree didnt seem so cold.
Who missed the fun?
While some IT bigwigs managed to make it to the
Bollywood night, all those who mattered were missing. For obvious reasons,I would say. Mukesh Ambani,Sunil Mittal and Hari Bhartia were hosting another big profile dinner closeby. Almost all Cabinet ministers made it. Kamal Nath was the only exception, who had some other dinner meeting to attend. Not only did the creme-de-la-creme of India Inc descended at the venue, the do also saw top global leaders marking their presence.
Nostalgic nath
Kamal Nath made a debut at Davos in 1993. Over the years,he has seen the WEF grow in size, stature and prosperity. These structures were not there initially, he said, adding, nor was there such diversity originally. In the initial years, only Europeans and the Americans came here to discuss ideas. The periphery then is the centre now,he says. He recalls when in 2008,he was riled for saying we have emerged, but the West has submerged.
