VADODARA, June 15: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation has again written to the State government, saying it does not want to take on the burden of operating the city bus service.
Municipal Commissioner G R Aloria told reporters on Monday that the letter followed a State government invitation to a meeting since postponed to discuss the handing over of the city bus services to the civic bodies concerned.
Aloria said the VMC8217;s General Board had already passed a resolution on the civic body8217;s reluctance to run the transport service.
Sources said the Government was, in all likelihood, trying to check out the civic body8217;s stands before taking the final decision on the operation of bus services, as it was mandatory under the law.
