Uncertainty over Malingas availability

There is uncertainty over Mumbai Indians fast bowler Lasith Malinga8217;s availability for Sunday8217;s game against Kings XI Punjab at the Wankhede Stadium as the Sri Lankan has left for Colombo. Malinga also missed a training session on Friday. It is learnt that the injury-prone Malinga is suffering from back spasms and there is no clear indication as to how many games he could miss. Malinga is set to undergo a fitness test in Mumbai on the eve of the match against Punjab and a call on his match fitness will be taken only late on Sunday or on Monday morning.

8220;Malinga has a sore back and has been in discomfort for the past few days. He has left for home and did not attend Friday8217;s training session. We are hoping that he will be fit soon,8221; a Mumbai Indians team source told The Indian Express on Saturday. Malinga did not feature in Mumbai8217;s last game against Delhi.
