Himachal stun Gujarat
Surat: Mohinderraj Sharma engineered a dramatic turnaround for Himachal Pradesh as the visitors beat Gujarat by six wickets in their Group A clash. Trailing by 42 runs on the first innings,Mohinderraj picked up 5/31 as Gujarat crumbled to 87 all out. Mukesh Sharma and Hemant Dogra then kept their cool as Himachal chased down the target with plenty to spare.

Hyderabad fall short
Uppal: Sanjay Bangar and Krishnakant Upadhyay picked up four wickets each for Railways as Hyderabad fell just two runs short of a first-innings lead. Responding to Railways 305,Ambati Rayudu top-scored with 73,but Hyderabad seemed out of the contest when they were reduced to 218/8. However,Alfred Absolem,Mohammad Kader and Sarvesh Kumar Nos 9,10 and 11 provided stirring rearguard action before being bowled out for 303. Railways were 18/0 in their second innings.

Orissa take lead
Chandigarh: Basant Mohanty picked up six wickets to help Orissa take a 106-run first innings lead,while Mayank Sidhanas half-century helped the visitors further strengthen their position against Punjab. At stumps on Day Three,Orissa were 196/8 in their second innings,299 runs ahead overall. Punjab will now hope to clean up the tail quickly and then attempt a tricky final-day chase.
