Five freedom fighters honoured

PANCHKULA, Aug 11: Five freedom fighters were honoured today by the government on the occasion of the golden jubilee of Indian independence at a function organised by the district administration. Minister for Local Bodies Kamla Verma honoured Jodh Singh, Surat Singh, Sadhu Ram, Naurang Singh and Bhupendra Kaur by presenting them 8220;tamapatra8221;.

While speaking on the occasion, she said that the responsibility to treasure the hard-won freedom lay with the younger generation and all efforts should be made to instill feelings of patriotism in the youngsters.
