Five freedom fighters honoured

PANCHKULA, Aug 11: Five freedom fighters were honoured today by the government on the occasion of the golden jubilee of Indian independence at a function organised by the district administration. Minister for Local Bodies Kamla Verma honoured Jodh Singh, Surat Singh, Sadhu Ram, Naurang Singh and Bhupendra Kaur by presenting them “tamapatra”.

While speaking on the occasion, she said that the responsibility to treasure the hard-won freedom lay with the younger generation and all efforts should be made to instill feelings of patriotism in the youngsters.
