City builder makes bail

VADODARA, June 21: A city court on Tuesday granted bail to a city-based builder involved in last week8217;s shoot-out at Karelibaug. On Friday, an ex-serviceman, Ramanbhai Dahyabhai Patel of Sripad Society on VIP Road was fired upon, allegedly by an advocate of city-based builder, Suresh Patel after Ramanbhai had gone to the builder8217;s house to inquire about his whereabouts. Suresh, along with advocate Kamlesh Parisha Thakar and their vehicle driver Kamlesh Christian were arrested.

While Thakar and Kamlesh were sent to judicial custody, Patel was remanded to police custody for two days. He moved a bail application on Tuesday and was granted bail. During the remand period, sources said, Patel was not only questioned about the shoot-out but was also grilled on the recovery of some used cartridges in his house.
