AURANGABAD, OCT 23: There is a surprise in store for telephone subscribers in Aurangabad. The next bill that subscribers in Aurangabad read, will have something for them. The Aurangabad telecom department will now come out with a multicolour digital printing system that will be easy on the eye. Pleasant to look at with a lot of white space and a little space tucked in put in seasons greetings to its valued customers.

With a watermark logo of the newly formed BSNL in the background, the bill will come in various bold fonts and with a lot of background colour for the different messages they will convey, and provide plenty of space for advertisements too.

This system which is being introduced for the first time in Maharashtra (and Aurangabad is only the second city in the country to adopt it, after Bangalore), is being processed by Xerox Modicorp Ltd, General Manager of the Aurangabad Telecom District, Mr R N. Padukone, said. The work will be carried out by the Xerox Business Services — the documenting outsourcing arm of the company.

Though the new system will cost the department more money, than the earlier one, the whole purpose was to add a customer satisfaction service. “We are going in for cosmetic changes now,” the general manager said.

The new customer service centre at Chikalhana, also open on Saturday, is equipped with furniture more suited to a corporate office.
