LONDON, MAY 19: An even more destructive variant of the love bug8217; computervirus that wreaked global havoc via the Internet earlier this month hasbroken out in the United States and could be spreading, experts warned onFriday.

They said the virus, carried though E-mail, has paralysed companies in theUnited States.

Graham Cluley of the anti-virus company Sophos Anti-virus said the new bugis more dangerous than the love bug8217; which was relatively easilyidentifiable because it clearly declared Iloveyou8217;.

By contrast, the new strain looks like a normal e-mail and takes on the nameof someone in a computer user8217;s address book, with the subject line startingquot;fw:quot;.

quot;It carries an attachment which also picks up a random name, so there isnothing like the love bug8217; to distinguish it,quot; Cluley said.
