Ex-employee held for dairy robbery

The Borivali police have arrested one Aziz Nagori,a youth in his early twenties for his involvement in a robbery.

The Borivali police have arrested one Aziz Nagori,a youth in his early twenties for his involvement in a robbery. According to the police,an amount of Rs 80,000 was looted from Moonlight Dairy located at Sai Baba Nagar in Borivali west on Sunday. The police claimed that Aziz,a former employee of the dairy, had planned the robbery along with his other two accomplices, who are presently absconding.

DCP Sanjay Banerjee (Zone 11) said,“The robbery occurred in the wee hours of Sunday. Three men,who had masked their faces, entered the dairy shop premises and assaulted the employees with knives. They looted an amount of Rs 80,000. A case of robbery had been registered and we are tracing the other accused.”

Banerjee said,“The detection of Aziz could have been a tough task as all the three robbers had masked their faces. This made it difficult for us to show the pictures of known criminals to the witnesses for them to identify the culprits.” Suspecting that the robbery could have been the handiwork of a person familiar with the dairy, police started enquiring with the employees of the other branches of the dairy at Bhayandar and came to know about Aziz Nagori, who had quit the dairy job a couple of weeks ago.

“Suspecting Aziz’s involvement,we sent teams to Bhiwandi and arrested him from a hotel in Bhiwandi. We could arrest him within 36 hours after registering the case. However,Aziz confessed to have committed the crime,” said Bannerjee. The police recovered a sum of Rs 74,000 from Aziz and are presently conducting enquiries to trace his two accomplices.
