,match-fixing in football?
After cricket it’s football and the West Bengal Police Club is once again under the scanner. The Calcutta Football League premier division match between West Bengal Police and Kalighat in Kalyani on Tuesday raised many an eyebrow with Police winning it 2-0. Even before the match,the Maidan was agog with rumours that Kalighat might concede the match to help their opponent move up the ladder and come out of the relegation zone.

Top New Zealand school side to participate in Dattu Phadkar Trophy
The Wellington School of Cricket,a top Kiwi school,will send over its team this year to participate in the national round of the Boost Cricket Cup Dattu Phadkar Trophy,to be played in the coming summer in Bangalore.

In a major phillip for Bengal cricket,20 school teams from all over the state will fight it out in the zonal leg of the junior tournament,with matches slated to be played in Cooch Behar,Asansol,Chinsurah and North 24-Parganas.
