Bangladesh, the World Cup co-hosts,face an uphill task now to qualify for the final eight from Group B after suffering defeats to India and West Indies. Bangladesh head coach Jamie Siddons summed up their World Cup so far.

What is your assessment of the performances so far?

We played well in our first match against India (87-run defeat) and also against Ireland (27-run win) but our performance against West Indies (nine-wicket defeat) was not acceptable.

What do you make of the fans’ attacks on the house of skipper Shakib Al Hasan after the West Indies defeat?

The main strength of our team is the support of our loyal fans. These are stray incidents.
