Breaking the Brad news

It was the biggest bizarre news flash for the day,one that made the media and citizens of Chandigarh literally launch a ‘manhunt’ and get in the ‘Pitt’.

It was the biggest bizarre news flash for the day,one that made the media and citizens of Chandigarh literally launch a ‘manhunt’ and get in the ‘Pitt’. Ever since the ‘news’ of Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt (famous for his roles in Troy,Curious Case of Benjamin Button and this year’s Oscar nominee Moneyball) arriving in the city hit the stands, reports of the star’s whereabouts circulated all day, with the media pulling in every favour and source to confirm his stay.

“He was at the Taj but then he moved out,had chicken at a local restaurant and pushed off for JW Marriott,” confirmed one source. Meanwhile, the staff at JW Marriott rubbished the reports and stated that neither he nor his partner Angelina Jolie were staying with them.

However, another anonymous source tip sent the mediapersons on the prowl again. “He is here,he checked in in the afternoon with a petite lady by his side and he is here for the shooting of Oscar winning director Kathryn Bigelow’s next,ZD 30,” tipped the source, once again, confirming all doubts.

According to reports doing the rounds,Pitt is supposed to be in the city for two days and is playing a foreign journalist in the film.

“It is a high profile visit, one of the most well kept secrets for they are concerned about his look in the film and security,” says a fellow scribe. By evening, speculations took a new turn as reports of him going to a farmhouse outside Chandigarh came, followed by his return to Marriott and leaving for the airport where he took a private jet out. Finally,to put rumours at rest, here’s the latest update on Pitt.

According to Theatre Mania and Market Watch websites,he has been added to the roster of performers who will take part in the Los Angeles premiere of Dustin Lance Black’s 8,to be offered as a benefit reading at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre on this March 3. Filmmaker Rob Reiner will direct and appear in the performance, which will benefit the American Foundation for Equal Rights.

The performance will be streamed live from LA on Saturday. Seems like he did fly out.
