Congress' Goa spokesman Ramakant Khalap said the state is facing a "constitutional crisis", and that he has sought an appointment with Governor Mridula Sinha to press for his party's demand for President's rule.
The government had banned import of fish on July 18 after the Food and Drugs Administration's (FDA) initial report confirmed presence of formalin, a toxic chemical, in them.
As he demanded a probe, CM Manohar Parrikar kept repeating, “there cannot be a plastic egg”.

"PM Modi has correctly used the resources of India and set the record of making 41 trips to 52 countries in four years. He has already spent Rs 355 crore," read a letter by Goa Congress General Secretary Sankalp Amonkar.
"Sometimes, they are drunk so bad that they do not have anything other than their undergarments on," said Sarika Gaonkar, sarpanch, Thana-Dongurli.
