The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), the fourth largest party in the dissolved House of Representatives, on Sunday welcomed Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah and named him its prime ministerial candidate should the party win the March 5 election. RSP chief Rabi Lamichhane and Shah signed a seven-point agreement after prolonged talks.

The pact keeps the party name, its chief, flag and election symbol unchanged, and designates Balendra Shah as the parliamentary party chief after the polls.
